Time and money conscious adults should give High-Intensity Circuit Training a try. HICT can be completed in a significantly shorter period of time, so it is ideal for busy individuals who do not have much time to dedicate to a fitness routine. HICT can also utilize the body weight of the person working out, so no need for weights or expensive equipment. If you travel often for business or leisure, you might find that HICT is the perfect solution for keeping fit and maintaining balance while you are on the road.

A popular HICT routine is the 7 Minute Workout, as popularized by The New York Times in 2013. The 7 Minute Workout is short and sweet and utilizes body weight and the use of a chair. And thanks to a study in the American College of Sports Medicine’s Health and Fitness Journal, we know that in resistance training, when a person uses multiple large muscles with very little rest in between each set, their bodies elicit aerobic and metabolic benefits which can last up to 72 hours!

Try this 7 Minute Workout timer. Once you hit the start button you have 3 seconds before your first exercise – Jumping Jacks. Watch the time count down behind the exercise illustration and name. There is no pause button so once you’ve hit start you’re in for the long haul. And don’t worry – there are rest breaks in between each exercise so you will have time to sip some water and catch your breath. Good luck and let us know how the 7 Minute Workout worked for you!
